Title: Senior Associate

Description: Founded in 2003 and based in Austin, Texas, Blue Sage Capital is a private equity fund with over $1Bn AUM. In addition to its recently raised $618 million Fund IV, the firm just closed its inaugural Blue Sage Strategic Credit SBIC Fund with $288 million of total committed capital. The firm is seeking Associates and a Senior Associate to join the new SBIC Fund, which will invest mezzanine debt and equity (control and non-control) in lower middle market companies across the U.S. 

Responsibilities for the Associate and Senior Associate roles will include:

• New deal review and assessment 
• Conduct financial, operational and market analysis to support diligence of potential investments
• Help lead due diligence efforts, including creation of diligence lists, industry research and coordination of third-party providers
• Prepare financial models, investment memos and portfolio review documents to share with stakeholders
• Review data rooms in detail and synthesize findings
• Actively participate in internal and external conversations surrounding potential investments and portfolio companies
• Monitor portfolio company performance and listen in to Board meetings as an observer
• Travel for company site visits and select board meetings
• Represent Blue Sage and articulate our strategy and investment criteria to prospective companies, investment bankers, lenders, co-investors, and more

Search Description: Blue Sage is searching for investment professionals with 2-6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, accounting, consulting, or something similar. The ideal candidate can demonstrate qualifications such as:

• Strong financial modeling and analytical skillset
• Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Sharp attention to detail
• Possesses ability to manage several workstreams or projects at once
• Self-starter, highly motivated, and eager to learn
• Passionate about investing in and partnering with founder-owned companies across the U.S.
• Willing to live and work in Austin, TX
