About the Position
Following the launch of its third fund, Farragut is looking to add an experienced Senior Analyst/Associate to its investment team. This position is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work collaboratively as part of a small team and gain direct exposure to all aspects of the private investment process. The Senior Analyst/Associate will serve as a key member of the Farragut team to support the firm’s investment, portfolio monitoring, and fund management activities. Duties will include evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities, ongoing monitoring of existing portfolio investments, and investment valuation and investor reporting. The Senior Analyst/Associate will gain valuable experience working with and learning from a successful and respected group of senior investment professionals.
Summary of Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the position will include:
- Assisting in executing new investments, including through financial modeling, company due diligence, industry research, and creation of investment committee materials and presentations;
- Monitoring the financial performance of Farragut’s portfolio companies, including performing trend analysis and tracking key performance metrics;
- Analyzing investment performance by maintaining and updating valuations and financial models at the portfolio company and fund levels;
- Preparing quarterly investor reports and other presentations for fund investors;
- Supporting the firm’s business development and sourcing efforts;
- Attending board calls and communicating with portfolio company management team members; and
- Tracking new investment opportunities, maintaining the firm’s CRM.
Over time, the Senior Analyst/Associate can expect to become an integral part of the firm’s broader efforts to originate and execute new investments and raise subsequent funds.
Desired Experience and Attributes
The ideal candidate for the position will have the following experience and personal attributes:
- One to three years of experience in investment banking, private credit/equity, leveraged finance, commercial banking, accounting, transaction advisory, and/or corporate finance;
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, and/or economics preferred;
- Self-starter with high character, strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and desire to learn;
- Well-versed in corporate accounting with excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to assess and present complex information clearly and concisely;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills, including proficiency with LBO models;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of self-accountability and a steadfast commitment to accuracy;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines;
- Ability to both work within a small team setting as well as independently as needed; and
- Confidence and maturity to interface with the fund’s principals, outside capital partners and advisors, and the C-suite executives of Farragut’s portfolio companies.
