Position: Principal of High Street Capital
Reports to: Partners of High Street Capital
Role Description
Principal will help enable High Street Capital’s investment and operating team leaders to focus on sourcing new platform transactions and manage High Street Capital’s existing holdings. Principal provides a seasoned perspective to execution workstreams to ultimately accelerate decision-making and enhance the efficiency with which the firm completes platform, add-on, and exit transactions. The principal will also assist in certain administrative responsibilities for the firm, including investor relations, giving him or her a front-row seat into the value High Street Capital creates and the impact it has on the firm’s limited partners.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Serve as investment team resource on platform investments
- Coordinate due diligence, third party providers, models, investment memos in support of, and in collaboration with, the investment team leader
- Collaborate with investment team leaders to frame out the key risk areas and key questions to answer for each transaction
- Negotiate legal documentation
- Direct activities of any third investment team member, managing them as a resource in coordination with the investment team leader
- Coordinate with 3rd party financing partners
- Lead all portfolio company exits
- Lead the analysis and execution of all add-ons, including negotiation of legal documentation and financing processes, as determined by Partners
- Oversee shared activities and best practices, including transaction-related legal documentation for investments, due diligence vendors, control and organization of internal and external data rooms, Deal Cloud, office requirements, various accounting activities in coordination with our outside CFO
- Sit on, or observe, portfolio company Boards of Directors as decided by the Partners at each platform transaction closing
Firm-wide Administration including: - Serve as first point of contact for investor relations, including leading drafting of the Annual General Meeting presentation
- Develop and maintain a Value Creation Summary for each Fund VI investment in collaboration with the deal team at closing
- Develop and maintain a firm wide digital escrow tracking system
- Quarterly valuation and return (IRR) management and coordination
- Take on various other administrative responsibilities (will evolve over time)
Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree and MBA (preferred but not required) with an outstanding academic record
- At least five years of relevant experience, including investment banking, Principal investing, subordinated debt/cash flow lending, or other similar roles. Accounting background helpful but not necessary
- Significant exposure to and understanding of efficient due diligence and closing processes for private investments
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and modeling skills. High attention to detail
- Strong written communication skills

What Success Looks Like
- Driving greater fund efficiency, as shown by the following:
- Quicker closings, as measured by time from LOI execution to closing
- Better utilization of High Street Capital resources by leveraging team leads and junior resources
- Better selection, terms and utilization of service providers
- Driving expense savings
- Driving better collaboration of deal teams and more effective and efficient input from Investment Committee on prospective investment opportunities
Compensation:
- Base salary and bonus plan commensurate with experience
